天然藍を使った左官技術を発信する「藍左師」の守谷玲太さん（39）＝本鵠沼在住＝が市内のカフェで出たコーヒーかすを活用した新たな地産品を発表した。守谷さんは「地域で排出されたモノで新たな価値を生み出したい」と話す。

　内装を手掛けた市内のカフェで、コーヒーを抽出した後に残る出がらしに着目。左官材料と配合し、拠点のアトリエ「アートモリヤ」＝大鋸＝でテーブルに仕立てた。８月中旬には市内の海岸で拾った貝殻を活用した製品も完成した。

　コーヒー殻は茶色、貝は白の材質。一見すると混ぜた素材は模様のように見え、大理石も思わせる自然な風合い。「日常的に使ってほしい」と強度やインテリアとのマッチングなども考慮した。

　目指すのは、廃材を活用した「お洒落でカッコいい家具」を、藤沢の特産物へと育てていくことだ。「行政に働きかけ、市内の産業から出るほかの廃材、廃棄物を活用するなど、広く地域の課題解決に」と展望を語る。

　今後は受注生産も計画。

Mr. Reita Moriya (39), who lives in Hon-Kugenuma and is an "Aizashi", a plasterer who uses natural indigo, has announced a new local product using coffee grounds from a cafe in the city. Mr. Moriya says, "I would like to create new values with the products produced in the region.

　At a café in the city where he worked on the interior design, he focused on the lees left over after the coffee was extracted. In mid-August, he also completed a product using seashells he picked up at the city's beach.

　The coffee shells are brown and the shells are white. At first glance, the mixed materials look like a pattern and have a natural texture reminiscent of marble. The strength of the product and the way it matches the interior design were also taken into consideration, as they wanted the product to be used on a daily basis.

　The goal is to develop "stylish and cool furniture" made from waste wood into a specialty of Fujisawa. The company is also looking forward to solving a wide range of local problems by approaching the government and utilizing other waste materials and wastes from industries in the city.

　In the future, he plans to produce the products on order.
